Care Instructions
These bonsai stands are produced to enhance the visual impact of bonsai while on display at shows or competitions so there are a few tips that can help you keep them in tip top condition. They are finished with a wax or oil finish and to maintain that look there are a few things to be aware of, such as storage, when not in use they should be stored flat and not left in direct sunlight, (such as on a window sill as the colours and grain definition will fade after extended periods of exposure to direct sunlight), just as a piece of fine furniture would. Also do not store them in damp conditions or extremes of temperature. They are not designed to be used in wet conditions or left outside in the rain.
If stacking one on top of the other, I would advise using some thin card or bubble wrap or something similar to prevent any damage to the display surface, which brings me to the most important thing which is to check the feet of your bonsai pot before placing the pot on the stand as the feet of a pot can be extremely gritty and if placed on the stand and twisted to position the pot it will damage the surface. Don’t panic there is an easy answer, if the feet are rough they can be sanded smooth and have a small self-adhesive rubber or foam pad placed on each of the feet which will prevent any damage. Finally to keep your stand in peak condition just buff with a clean soft cloth to remove dust and finger prints and occasionally polish with a good quality wax furniture polish
