Hand Made Bonsai Pots
By Thor Holvila

Edition: March 2017 "Black and Blue"
1976 the Rolling Stones released the album Black and Blue..It was my first Stones album, which went on the turntable until the sun one hot June day melted the vinyl... This edition is a tribute to them by combining two of my signature colours. Cracked turquoise and unglazed Lava Black. Black has been an unusual colour for bonsai pots but I have seen it increase in recent years, especially for kusamono and shitakusa. I use it, however, even in larger pots since I think it create contrast and at the same time being anonymous and highlights the tree. Blue colours in pots are traditionally used for flowering trees like azaleas and malus. Matt blue is also working for conifer pine and junipers. Personally, I think it is an excellent choice for yellow and red autumn hues and also combined with pink flowers. Now, I am going to put on the first track, "Hot Stuff" and let Keith's riff drag in the background, I advise you to the same. Enjoy and rock on!
